Yeah 2014!

Bella here, just wanted to check in with everyone.  I am doing fantastic.  We had a great Christmas and we are all looking forward to a great year.  I’m still on low-dose chemo and prednisone, I go in for another check-up this Friday and for my yearly shots (ew I don’t like needles).  I can’t believe it’s been 5 months since I became a tri-pawd.  Mom and Pappa got me new boots as a part of my Christmas, I liked the pig ears and my stuffed gator better but sometimes a girl has got to have new shoes.  Pappa took a picture of me sporting them.  I really like the way they give me extra traction.  It took us a bit to find a good fit and the right boot but we kept trying and finally got it right.  I’ve come a long way since I came home with three legs.  I now run around, can easily go down steps (I’ve been doing that for some time) and in the last couple of months I have learned to come back up them with out help.  I can fend for myself for the most part and I am loving life on three legs.  Mom has been taking me for more car rides that don’t include a visit to the vet which makes me smile although I have grown quite fond of him after all he helped save my life!  Happy hoppin my friends.  Bella out 🙂

P.S. Here are  a few pics of me over the last couple of months.  Eventually momma is going to figure out how to post a video of me running around out back…but we’re still learning.

  2. YAAAAAAAY!! Pictures of Bella AND a great update too! Definitely a good start to the New Year!

I just caught up on a blog I missed where you mentioned the loss of Alex. Just want you to kow how sorry I am. An eleven yr. old “Newfie” is a success story for sure! I know he’s watching over yoj and your pack!

Bella’s “begging face” gets her any treats any time, I’m sure! So cute! She really does have long legs that go on forever! Models arond the globe are envious!

And that picture with “her” Christmas tree…..that’s your next Christmas card right there! Is that a kitty look alike photo bo bing behind her?

Thankyou so much for the pdate and delightful pictures! Keep ’em coming!

    HUGE hugs to all!

PS….As far as shots/vaccnes go, I’m pretty sure you are NOT supposed to give them during chemo. I know there’s a whole lot of “discussion” around nere abot vaccines and not giving them to a dog with this crapy disease or during chemo. Anyway..just throwing it out there. I’m certainly no vet!

And styln’ those shoes…OMD!! I want a pair! She makes them look good!

  3. Thanks for the comments, we love to read them. Also thank you so much for mentioning the shots. I will certainly ask the vet about it when we go in. Always better to be safe than sorry, she is doing so well we would hate to do anything that might not be good for her.

  4. Woooohooo! It’s great to see you looking so pawesome! Loooove the stylin shoes Bella!

I agree with Sally. There’s new guidelines about vaccines and dogs fighting cancer, we have posted about them in our forums. Bottom line is no vaccines, hop on over to read more in “Tips and Resources”

    Lookin good gorgeous!
