What a Beautiful Life!

We lost our beautiful girl.  I have been wanting to post for some time but was just not ready to do it in the style I knew our girl would demand.  She would not want her exit to be a sad one but would want us all to remember that her wonderful life was a celebration.  She taught us all the meaning of grace under fire even in her exit.  She was a happy wonderful girl gobbling down her food and enjoying frozen bone popsicles and lots of cuddling and love until the night before she crashed.  So strong and yet so delicate, she only felt bad for about 8 hours, her body just gave in and she told us it was time. You all have offered so much support and we could not have got though this with out you all there to cheer us on.  Ending on a positive note she taught us all how great a big girl can do on three legs…she kicked cancers ass and had a wonderful 8 months (5 more months than was originally predicted by the way).  No one can put a time limit on our boys and girls, each has their own plan!  It’s all about making each day a wonderful one and we were lucky enough to have 8 months of joy and happiness.  Such a blessing she was and the gifts she gave us are still with us.  Her presence will always be in our hearts, mind and home.  She evokes smiles, and tears at times (although less and less as she would have demanded) and most of all laughter when we think about her silly big personality.  Such a sweet beautiful big happy Saint! Enjoy every minute because they truly are our heroes, they give us so much and then some so that when they have to leave us here there is an extra bucket to keep giving even though they are gone, it’s ever lasting! Good bye my girl, now go run like hell on all four with your big brother Alex!  We’ll all walk over together one day.

  1. I am so sorry. You are so right, our pups deserve to be remembered with celebration. Bella really showed everyone that she lived her life on her own terms, five months longer than they said she would! That is worth SO much celebration. Run free Bella, you are with a group of wonderful souls and I just know they greeted you with tails wagging!!!
    Sending you many hugs

  4. Ohhh, I’m so sorry to hear this…so very, very sorry.

I KNOW it took an incredible amount of courage through your tears to write such a wonderful tribute to the amazing Bella.

Yes, Bella displayed tremendous grace, just as you have in this heartfelt celebration of a life well lived……and so well loved, so loved!

Sheis a TRUE INSPIRATION for all dogs, but especially our extra big pups!! Because of Bella, many owners of big dogs faced with the scarey decision to amputate, will go forward. They will be able to share more love, more tummy rubs, more cuddles. more treats, more popsicles, more car rides, more spoiling because Bella’s example gave them hope!

Bella’s life truly is one of purpose. She lived a life of meaning. Her legacy will cntinue to live on, not only withnyou andher friends and family, but with her family here at Tripawds.

That sweet fun-loving goofy girl melted hearts here with her first post. A sweet soul loke Bella will NEVER be forgotten!

I know the heartache, the void, the emptiness once a tripawd has crossed over. Your days, your nights, so empty.

But as you articulated so well, Bella would not want you to be sad, but rather focus on celebratingmher wonderful life. You have done that beautifully Bella is very proud of this post…non-stop tail waggin’ proud!!

When you can, I hope you will share more of Bella’s joyful life she shared withnyou. And, of course, more pictures! She’s just so darn cute!

We are here with you. We understand. Please lean on us as you try and move forward.

It is sich a privilege to be sharingmthis journey withnyou and Bella. You two are a team…an inseparable team whose bond can NEVER be broken!!

  5. Oh guys, I’m so very, very sorry to hear this. You and Bella fought an amazing, inspawrational fight that will go down in Tripawds history. She beat the odds in so many ways, not just for the cancer but for her size in general. And through it all, you kept a fantastic attitude and really showed everyone the meaning of “quality” over “quantity.”

Kudos to you and sweet Bella. I know it’s not easy to part ways but I hope that the way in which your pack lived life to the fullest will comfort your aching heart.

It’s an honor to have you in this community, then, now and always. Run free Bella, we’ll meet again some day.
